Or sat quietly in a chair.
Perhaps you sent a flower piece,
If so, we saw it there.
Perhaps you said the kindest words,
at any friend could say.
Perhaps you were not there at all,
Just thought uf us that day.
Whatever you did to consoleour hearts,

After Glow
I’d Like The Memory Of Me
To Be A Happy One.
I’d Like To Leave An A er Glow
Of Smiles When Life Is Done.
I’d Like To Leave An Echo
Whispering Softly Down The Ways.
Of Happy Times And
Laughing Times And
Bright And Sunny Days.
I’d Like The Tears Of
Those Who Grieve,
To Dry Before the Sun.
Of Happy Memories at I
Leave When Life Is Done.
LV104
Do not stand at my
grave and weep;
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am a diamonds glint on snow,
I am the sunlight on
ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken
In the morning’s hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars
That shine at night.
Do not stand at my
grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
LV105
You can only have one father/ mother,
Patient, kind & true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you
When other friends forsake you,
To father/ mother you will return,
For all his/ her loving kindness,
He/ She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon his/ her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus take this message,
To our dear father/ mother up above;
Tell him/ her how we miss him/ her,
And give him/ her all our love.
LV106
Death is nothing at all
I have slipped away into the next room
I am I, and you are you
Whatever we were to each other
That, we still are
Call me by my old familiar name
Speak to me in the easy way
Which you always used
Put no difference in your tone
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow
Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together
Pray, smile, think of me, pray for me
Without the trace of a shadow in it
Life means all that it ever meant
It is the same as it ever was
I am waiting for you
Somewhere very near
Just around the corner
All is well.
LV107
Sudden Parting
It was a sudden parting,
too bitter to forget,
Those who loved you dearly,
Are the ones who can’t forget.
We often sit and think of you,
And think of how you died;
To think you could not say goodbye,
Before you closed your eyes.
Your life was one of kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others’ needs,
Sincere and true in heart and mind,
Beautiful memories left behind.
May the God of love and mercy,
Care for our loved one who is gone,
And bless with consolation,
Those left to carry on.
Our family chain is broken,
Nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The links shall join again.
LV108
Miss Me, But Let Me Go
When I have come to the end of the road
And the sun has set on me
I want no tears in a gloom filled room
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little – but not too long
And not with a head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared
Miss me – but let me go
For this is a journey we all must take
And each must go alone
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan
Just a step on the road to home
When you are lonely and sick at heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrow in caring deeds
Miss me – but let me go.
LV109
A Letter From Heaven
I’m writing this from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above
Where there’s no more
tears or sadness
There’s just eternal love.
When you are walking down the street
And you’ve got me on your mind
I’m walking in your footsteps
Only half a step behind.
And when you feel that gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face
That’s me giving you a great big hug
Or just a so embrace.
And when it’s time for you to go
From that body to be free
Remember you’re not going
You are coming here to me.
LV110
God looked around his garden
And found an empty place
He then looked down
Upon the earth,
And saw your tired face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God’s garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough,
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids,
And whispered “Peace be Thine”.
It broke our hearts to lose you
But you didn’t go alone,
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home
LV111
We lost a mother with a heart of gold,
How much we miss her can never be told,
She shared our troubles and helped us along,
If we follow in her footsteps
we will never go wrong.
We miss you from your fireside chair,
Your loving smile and gentle air,
Your vacant place no one can fill,
We miss you mother and always will.
She was a mother so very rare,
Content in her home and always there,
On earth she toiled, in Heaven she rests,
God bless you mother, you were one of the best.
Each time we look at your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
Don’t be sad but courage take,
And love each other for my sake.
The happy hours we once enjoyed,
How sweet their memory still,
But death has left a vacant place,
This world can never fill.
LV112
We sat beside your bedside,
And watched you fade away;
And though our hearts were breaking,
We knew you could not stay.
What you suffered you told but few,
You did not deserve what you went through,
Tired and weary, you made no fuss,
But tried so hard to stay with us.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
He closed His arms around you,
And whispered ‘Come with me’.
We hold you close within our hearts,
And there you shall remain,
To walk with us throughout our lives,
Until we meet again.
If memories bring us closer,
We are never far apart,
God has you in His keeping,
We have you in our hearts.
LV113
To those I have left behind,
Some things I’d like to say,
But first of all to let you know
That I’ve arrived OK,
I’m writing this from Heaven
Where I dwell with God above,
Where there’s no more tears or sadness,
There is just eternal love.
The day I had to leave you.
When my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me,
And said “I welcome you”.
Please do not be unhappy,
Just because I’m out of sight,
Remember that I’m with you
Every morning, noon and night.
And when you feel the gentle breeze
Or the wind upon your face.
That’s me giving you a great big hug
Or just a soft embrace.
And when it’s time for you to go,
From that body to be free,
Remember you’re not going,
You are coming here to me.
P.S. God sends His love.
LV114
Softly in the morning you heard a gentle call,
You took the hand God offered you and
gently passed away.
No farewell words were spoken,
no time to say goodbye,
You were gone before we knew it
and only God knows why.
Our hearts still ache in sadness
and secret tears still flow,
What it meant to lose you Mum,
no one will ever know.
The laughter we had, the good times we shared,
The love you gave us, the way you cared.
You left us lovely memories,
your love is still our guide,
Although we cannot see you,
you’re always by our side.
A beautiful star shines on your grave,
Of a Mother we loved whom we could not save.
Her memory a treasure no one can steal
Her death a wound no one can heal.
In God’s care you rest above,
And in our hearts you rest with love.
Will those who think of Mum today,
A little prayer to Jesus say.
LV115
Distance takes us far apart
And darkens my today.
I have to keep remembering –
You’re just a thought away.
When the world is too confusing,
Times are hard to bear,
I pull your precious meaning,
Your bright spirit, from the air.
If I sometimes drift into
A lonely state of mind,
I gather up the memories
Of days we left behind.
And though you’re not beside me,
I can tap into my heart
And draw upon the warmth and love
That lives when we’re apart.
And with these fond reflections
On the times when you were near,
I sense a little bit of what
It’s like to have you here.
LV116
Don’t grieve for me now I’m free,
I’m following the path God laid for me.
I took His hand when I heard him call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play,
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
I found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savoured much,
Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief,
Lift your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, He set me free.
LV117
A loving husband/ wife, father/ mother and
grandfather/ grand mother too,
Each one of us thought the world of you,
For us you always did your best;
God grant your soul eternal rest.
Quickly and quietly came the call,
Without farewell you le us all,
A sudden call from God on high,
You had no chance to say goodbye,
Without farewell you fell asleep,
But memories of you we’ll always keep.
We did not know that morning,
What sorrow the day would bring,
When a heart of gold stopped beating,
And we couldn’t do a thing.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
We never fail to think of you,
We never cease to care,
We only wish we could go home,
And find you waiting there.
LV118
Don’t remember me with sadness,
Don’t remember me with tears,
Remember all the laughter,
We’ve had throughout the years.
Then when the summer sunshine,
Awakens the flowers in bloom,
I’ll walk that light from heaven,
Around the corners of every room.
Do the things we did before,
The same in every way,
Just whisper a little prayer to me,
At the dawn of every day.
Just think of me as present,
Don’t think of me as past,
I’ll watch and care and love you,
From heaven’s open door.
And when your road gets rough & rocky,
Or you’re down and need a crutch,
Remember I’m right beside you,
Just an inch too short to touch.
LV119
We miss you from your fireside chair,
Your loving smile and gentle air,
Your vacant place no one can fill,
We miss you Dad and always will.
Each time we look at your picture,
You seem to smile and say,
Don’t be sad but courage take,
And love each other for my sake.
Our lips cannot speak how we loved him,
Our hearts cannot tell what to say,
But God only knows how we miss him
In our home that is lonely today.
We never fail to pray for you,
We never cease to care,
We wish we could go home again,
And find you waiting there.
We will always remember,
Our whole lives through,
The last words we had with you.
LV120
My Rosary Beads
A little pair of Rosary Beads –
As plain as plain can be.
But only God in heaven knew,
How dear they were to me.
I had them always with me
At every step I took.
At evening when I slumbered,
At morn when I awoke.
In bright and cloudy weather,
In sunshine and in rain.
Happiness or sorrow –
In pleasure or in pain.
It helped me in my struggle,
My little Rosary Beads
close beside me lie.
That the holy name of Jesus
May be the last I say,
And kissing my sweet Rosary Beads
My soul passed away.
LV121
A Light is Gone
A light from our household is gone,
A voice we loved is stilled,
A place is vacant in our home,
That never can be filled.
Lonely is our home without you,
Life to us is not the same,
All the world would be like heaven,
If we could have you back again.
How dearly we loved you,
And prayed you might live,
But Jesus just beckoned,
And we had to give.
God gave us strength to bear it,
And courage to fight the blow,
What it has meant to lose you,
God alone will ever know.
May the God of love and mercy,
Care for our loved one who is gone,
And bless with consolation,
LV122
Your life was love and labour,
Your love for your family true,
You did your best for all of us,
We will always remember you.
God saw you getting tired,
When a cure was not to be,
He closed his arms around you,
And whispered “Come to Me!”
Our lives are all so different now,
From what they used to be,
All because you are not here,
To share our company.
Life brings us happiness,
But can quickly turn unkind,
It brings a grief that’s hard to bear,
For loved ones left behind.
Your resting place we visit,
We place some flowers with care,
But no one knows the heartache,
As we turn and leave you there.
LV123
Mother
God bless you, Mother in your grave
God keep you in His care,
And may He listen to my heart,
And hear my fervent prayer.
I pray that you are safe with Him
For all eternity:
And He will bless you for your love
For all your family.
May you have peace and rest at last
From every care & woe;
And may you sleep in comfort from
The winds and rains and snow.
God bless you for your smiling lips.
And all you tried to do,
To bring us happiness on earth;
And make our dreams come true.
And up in Heaven, Mother dear,
Please say a prayer for me
And for all your family.
LV124
May He support
us all the day long
till the shades lengthen
and the evening comes
and the busy world is
hushed and the fever of life
is over and our work is
done: then in his mercy
may he give us a safe
lodging and a holy rest and
peace at last.
– Cardinal Newman
LV125
They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal,
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way we feel.
For no one knows the heartache,
That lies behind our smiles,
No one knows how many times
We have broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something,
So there won’t be any doubt,
You’re so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.
We cannot bring the old days back,
When we were all together,
The family chain is broken now,
But memories live forever.
LV126
Your painful days are over Mum,
Your restless nights have passed,
God gently closed your eyes,
And gave you peace at last.
Sad are the hearts that loved you,
Silent tears that fall,
Living our lives without you,
Is the hardest part of all.
You gave us years of happiness,
Then sorrow came with tears,
You left us lovely memories,
We will treasure through the years.
There is a beautiful path in a wonderful land,
Where God and our Mum walk hand in hand,
How lucky God is to have such a treasure,
Take care of her Lord, forever and ever.
May you rest in peace dear Mum
Is now our daily prayer,
We thank you Mum for everything,
Your love and all your care.
LV127
We did not see you close your eyes,
We did not see you die,
All we knew was that you were gone,
Without a last goodbye
It was a sudden parting,
Too bitter to forget,
Only those who loved you,
Are the ones who will never forget.
The happy hours we once enjoyed,
How sweet their memory still,
But death has left a vacant place,
This world can never fill
Your life was one of kindly deeds,
A helping hand for others needs
Sincere and true in heart & mind,
Beautiful memories left behind.
LV128
You can only have one father/ mother,
Patient, kind & true;
No other friend in all the world,
Will be the same to you
When other friends forsake you,
To father/ mother you will return,
For all his/ her loving kindness,
He/ She asks nothing in return.
As we look upon his/ her picture,
Sweet memories we recall,
Of a face so full of sunshine,
And a smile for one and all.
Sweet Jesus take this message,
To our dear father/ mother up above;
Tell him/ her how we miss him/ her,
And give him/ her all our love.
LV129
His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away
His journey’s just begun
Life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.
Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears.
In a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.
Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today.
How nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.
And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
For nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.
LV130
There Is A Special Angel
There is a special Angel in Heaven
that is part of me.
It is not where I wanted him
but where God wanted him to be.
He was here but just a moment
like a night time shooting star.
And though he is in Heaven
he isn’t very far.
He touched the heart of many
like only an Angel can do.
So I send this special message
to the Heaven up above.
Please take care of my Angel
and send him all my love.
LV131
A Lifetime Wish
If we could have a lifetime wish
and one dream that could come true
We would pray to God with all our
hearts just to see and speak to you
A thousand words won’t bring you back
We know because we’ve tried
and neither will a million tears
We know because we’ve cried
You’ve left behind our broken hearts
and precious memories too
But we’ve never wanted memories
We only wanted you.
LV132
A Child Loaned
“I’ll lend you for a little while, a child of mine”,
God said. “For you to love while he lives, and
mourn for when he’s dead. It may be six or
seven years,or twenty-two or three, but will you,
till I call him back, take care of him for me?
I’ve looked this whole world over in my search
for teachers true, and from the folks that crowd
life’s lane I have chosen you. Now will you give
him all your love nor think the labour vain, nor
hate me when I come to take
this lent child back again?
I fancied that I heard them say, “Dear Lord
Thy will be done. For all the joy Thy child will
bring, the risk of grief we’ll run. We’ll shelter him
with tenderness, we’ll love him while we may.
And for the happiness we’ve known, forever
grateful we’ll stay. But should the Angels come
for him much sooner than we’ve planned,
we’ll brave the bitter grief that comes,
and try to understand”.
SV101
Deep are the memories,
Precious they stay;
No passing of time,
Can take them away
SV102
Those who die in grace go no
further from us than God
and God is very near.
SV103
Eternal rest grant unto her, Oh Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon her
and may her soul and all the souls of the
faithful departed rest in peace.
SV104
A page in the book of memory,
silently turns today. We remember
you in silence, And make no outward
show. And what it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
SV105
We miss you in so many ways,
We miss the things you used to say,
And when old times we do recall,
It’s then we miss you most of all.

It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.

But as God calls us one by one
The links shall join again

A Silent Thought,
a quiet prayer;
For a special person
in God’s care.
SV110
Silently we grieve,
And brush away our tears,
The memories he/she left behind,
Will last throughout the years.
SV111
Your life was a blessing,
your memory a treasure . . .
You are loved beyond words
and missed beyond measure . . .
SV112
Death leaves a heartache
no one can heal . . .
Love leaves a memory
no one can steal.
SV113
May the God of love and mercy,
Care for our loved one who is gone,
And bless with consolation,
Those left to carry on.

All I ask is that wherever
you may be,
you will remember me at
Mass & Holy Communion.

hearts of those
we love is not
to die.

Deep in our hearts
your memory is kept
to love, to cherish, and
never forget

Your life was a blessing
your memory a treasure…
you are loved beyond words

Your gentle face and patient smile,
With sadness we recall,
You had a kindly work for each
And died beloved by all

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us every day,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear
